Hi everyone!! I hope that everyone is enjoying this week! It has been a very busy one. We have been doing all sorts of fun last day activities at school! Thank you so much to those who made it to graduation yesterday! Tomorrow is the VERY LAST day of school. School will be done at 11:30am, and the summer fair wil begin at noon. If your children will be attending without you, please be sure to send them a couple dollars for food and drinks :) Tomorrow will also be house colour day. So students should be dressed in either orange, blue, or green. Today was soccer jersey day, I tried to get the students to cheer for Italy, but it didn't work. They have too much spirit!  Have a great night:) 

Graduation Night is TONIGHT! We will begin at 7:00pm, so please try to be on time, as we will walk in together as a class. Hope to see everyone later on.

With the last day of school fast approaching us, I wanted to let everyone know that Friday, June 13th, 2014 will be A HALF-DAY! School will be done at 11:30am. We will be hosting a SUMMER FAIR! The summer fair will be filled with lots of exciting games, food, and drink. The fair will begin at 12:00pm and end at 2:00pm. We thought this would be an amazing way to say goodbye. Ticket for children will be $10.00 and tickets for adults will be $5.00. Adults MUST be present with children for those who would like to join. After care will only run that day until 4:00 pm for those who can not attend, or who can not make it by 11:30am.

In the morning, we practiced for graduation! Both grade 1’s and 2’s practiced their basic math skills in the arithmetic books. We did some fun activities regarding summer, and this year in grade 1 and 2!

Soccer World Cup games start tomorrow, so if anyone has a jersey, be sure to support your team tomorrow at school!

ONE LAST CELEBRATION!

Friday's summer fair is going to be a blast! The students will have one last chance to have fun with their friends before summer break. Tickets are $10.00 for children. Children must be with an adult. PARENTS: If you can not make the fair, you can pay $15.00 for a ticket, and your child will be supervised in a goup of 5 children! PLEASE TRY AND MAKE IT OUT :)

Addition FACE OFF!

Students paired up and got cards labeled 1 to 10. They took turns picking a card, and the first person to add to 15 won! We had a whole tournament!

Language

Bucket Activity. Today the grade 1’s and 2’s will write about summer and all the activities they are looking forward to! We turned this writing piece into a form of art to take home J

Novel Study

We recapped what happened in the chocolate touch do far, and made some predictions. We got comfortable and read chapter 8 and 9, and made some connections. Then the students filled out a questionnaire!

The grade 1’s will have an in class spelling B on MONDAY June 9^TH, 2014, since some grade 1’s were absent due to track and field. The school Spelling B will be take place at 9:00am on Tuesday Morning! All parents are more than welcomed to attend.
