I am so excited to
announce our FINAL field trip of this school year! We will be travelling to the
zoo to observe the animals in their habitats, as well as observe how important
our natural environment is for both humans and animals!! This ties subject
matter from both the grade 1 and grade 2 “Sharing the Planet” UOI! The cost of the trip is $22.00/student, which
includes travel and entrance into the zoo. I am looking for 3 more parents to
accompany us of this excursion! If you would like to come, please let me know
on the form I sent home today. The absolute last day to hand in money and the
permission form will be Friday, May 9th, 2014! Any student who would
not like to participate is expected to be at school that day, as will join
another class J
Please take a look at our summer camp programs offered here
at St. Jude’s. It is an amazing program this year with lots of fun activities! I know there are a few
students who have not yet registered for next year. I know there are only a
couple spots left for both grade 2, and grade 3. If you have not registered and would like to
come back next year, PLEASE do so soon.
Math

Grade 2
Today in grade

they had regarding this unit.
UOI

Today in UOI,
the grade 1’s finished their layers of a pond! Then they had a chance to
complete an explorer booklet.
Grade 2
The Grade 2's started writting letters to their friend! Their job was to let their friends know the importance of water conservation.
Language
Today the both
grade 1’s and 2’s worked on their language skills in their Language workbooks.

L2 pgs. 107 –

We continued to
work on our Arts Night Presentation.
Novel Study
We did not have
a chance yesterday to read chapter 3, so we read this today. Later, the
students had to draw a picture of their favorite part of the book, and explain
it using their own words.
Have a wonderful evening!
