I wanted to remind
everyone that this upcoming Friday is the track and field day! We will be
heading up to Maples in order to use that huge piece of land. Please make sure
you send your children to school in their gym uniforms with lots of water.
With the last day of school
fast approaching us, I wanted to let everyone know that Friday, June 13th,
2014 will be A HALF-DAY! School will be done at 11:30am. We will be hosting a
SUMMER FAIR! The summer fair will be filled with lots of exciting games, food,
and drink. The fair will begin at 12:00pm and end at 2:00pm. We thought this
would be an amazing way to say goodbye. Ticket for children will be $10.00 and
tickets for adults will be $5.00. Adults MUST be present with children for
those who would like to join. After care will only run that day until 4:00 pm
for those who can not attend, or who can not make it by 11:30am.
Please take a look at our summer camp programs offered here
at St. Jude’s. It is an amazing program this year with lots of fun activities! I know there are a few
students who have not yet registered for next year. I know there are only a
couple spots left for both grade 2, and grade 3. If you have not registered and would like to
come back next year, PLEASE do so soon.
Math
Grade 1
Today in grade
1, students will be working on a problem-solving question relating to capacity.
They will be using objects around the classroom to help them.
Grade 2
The grade 2’s
had a review lesson unit 10 today in class. We went over the review as a class,
and the students got a chance to ask any questions regarding the unit. Then
they studied.
STUDY! TEST
TOMORROW!
UOI
Grade 1
The grade 1’s had a really cool activity to
work on today! They watched a short video and then wrote about what it would be
like as an ocean animal or a mermaid!
Grade 2
The grade 2’s continued to work on their culminating
task!
Language
Today the both
grade 1’s and 2’s worked on their language skills in their Language workbooks.
We continued to
work on our Arts Night Presentation.
Novel Study
We made a prediction
regarding chapter 4 of our novel study! Then we read it as a class and
discussed!
Have a wonderful evening!
