Grade 1

Today in grade 1, they worked on some more review sheets on symmetry, telling time, identifying and drawing halves.   

Grade 2

The grade 2’s focused on using proper language to compare and contrast 2D attributes.

UOI

Grade 1

Today in UOI, the grade 1’s watched a power point on habitats. We learned about the different climates and animals in each habitat! They were given an opportunity to ask questions at the end, and discuss the main things were have learned!

Grade 2

 The grade 2’s practiced their bullying skit, and presented it to the grade 1’s. THEY DID AN AMAZING JOB!

Language

Today the both grade 1’s and 2’s worked on their language skills in their Letter and Sounds workbooks.

We continued to work on our Arts Night Presentation.

Novel Study

As a class we discussed chapter 2 together! Then they had to fill out a sequence of events sheets!

Today in grade 1 we reviewed what we have learned about 2D figures, especially their attributes. The grade 1’s will have a unit test on Friday, May 2^nd, 2014.  I gave them a review to work. Feel free to work with them at home for extra practice.

The grade 2’s began a brand new unit today! We are looking at 2D figures, and their attributes.

UOI

Grade 1

Today in UOI, the grade 1’s were split into groups. They were given a habitat, and had to draw what they think it looked it and what animals lived there!

Grade 2

 In grade 2, the students worked on anti-bullying skit to present in the gym for anti-bullying week!

Language

Today the both grade 1’s and 2’s worked on their language skills in their Language workbooks.

Today in grade 1, we reviewed time! We reviewed the hands and what they mean, and how to count properly in relation to time. We did examples as a class.

Grade 1

Today in UOI, the grade 1’s worked together to brainstorm the definition of “habitat”. Then as a class, we reviewed what a habitat means, and thought of our own definition for it!

Grade 2

 The grade 2’s finished off their presentations. They used a lot of this time to complete their math test.

Language

Today the both grade 1’s and 2’s worked on their langauge skills in their Letter and Sounds workbooks.

Happy Friday everyone! I just wanted to remind everyone that next week is Anti-bully week! On Monday both boys and girls should be coming to school wearing pink! The children are going to participate in the creature quest next Friday, May 2^nd, 2014. Please have the $4.00 and permission forms in by Thursday, May 1^st, 2014.

At St Jude’s a few children in grade 6 are collecting canned goods to donate to Eden food bank! It would be greatly appreciated if children could donate to this food drive!
