Good evening everyone! I sent home a form for creature quest last week. This will be taking place for both grade 1’s and 2’s on Friday, May 2^nd, 2014. The cost is $4.00 per student. Please have this in by Monday, April 28th, 2014. Please take a look at our summer camp programs offered here at St. Jude’s. It is an amazing program this year with lots of fun activities! I know there are a few students who have not yet registered for next year. I know there are only a couple spots left for both grade 2, and grade 3.  If you have not registered and would like to come back next year, PLEASE do so soon.

Math 

Grade 1

Today in grade 1 we compared figures. We did a lot of cutting and pasting in class in order to compare. I gave the students a of time to complete this in class.

Grade 2

The grade 2’s learned how to problem solve using snap cubes and pattern blocks. They then uses these materials to create different figures in their textbook.

UOI

Grade 1

Today in UOI, we started our presentations. They were done really well! We will continue this tomorrow.  

Grade 2

 The grade 2’s also resented their summative projects in class today.

Language

Today the both grade 1’s and 2’s worked on their language skills in their letter and sounds workbooks.

Today we read the very first chapter of the CHOCOLATE TOUCH, which is our new novel study book. We discussed the main events, and if they liked the book so far. Then in their journals, they brainstormed what would happen in chapter 2.
