This week is  starting off great! Almost every student has bought money in for our spring fundraiser, which is fantastic!!  Just as a reminder, the students must have $30.00 minimum to be able to attend the skooters event on Thursday! If this is not complete, they will have to stay home. It is going to be a lot of fun, so I really hope to see everyone there! Your participation is greatly appreciated. Pancake day is tomorrow! So if you have paid for pancakes, the students will be eating from 9:00 am to 9:30 am. If you would like to sill get pancake tomorrow, you can place an order at reception at the beginning of the day.J Please take a look at our summer camp programs offered here at St. Jude’s. It is an amazing program this year with lots of fun activities! I know there are a few students who have not yet registered for next year. I know there are only a couple spots left for both grade 2, and grade 3.  If you have not registered and would like to come back next year, PLEASE do so soon.

 This upcoming Friday, April 18, 2014 is GOOD FRIDAY, and Monday, April 21, 2014 is EASTER MONDAY, so there will be NO SCHOOL! Enjoy the long weekend.

Math 

Grade 1

Today in grade 1, we began a brand new unit! The children were given 30 seconds to look at a picture, and then had to use their memory to explain it using a much detail as they could. The they did the same thing using an image in their math makes sense workbooks.

Grade 2

The grade 2’s learned about the meter today, and compared it to the centimeter. They realized what type of measurement is appropriate for certain objects in the classroom.

UOI

Grade 1

Today in UOI, the grade 1’s learned how to colour using the pointillism method! They coloured in umpa loompa’s using this method.

Grade 2
Today we learned about Easter, and they filled in specific information regarding this celebration, and how it differes around the world! 

Language

Today the both grade 1’s and 2’s worked on their language skills in their Language workbooks.
