Good evening!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I just wanted to remind all parents,
that parent-teacher interviews take place this Thursday, December 5th,
2013. If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. Take a
look at our day!
Math
Grade 1
The grade 1’s
watched a video about time and how to tell time. We reviewed using the big
clock how to tell time, and what hand represents hour and what hand represents
minutes. I showed various times and had the students tell me what time it is,
and students also came up and show the times

Grade 2
Today the grade
two’s learned how to add ten. The grade 2’s practiced adding 10 using a
worksheet. After, we reviewed the worksheet and discussed why adding 10 is
easier. Using the big math book pg. 19, we made number sentences based on the
10 frame.

Grade 1
Today the grade
1’s planned their trip to MEXICO!!! We discussed how we could pack for this trip,
and what sort of things we would bring. We then discussed how we could sort our
planning into what types of clothes they need, what type of toiletries they
need, and what other extra things they could bring for fun!! They then had to
draw these things in their very own suitcase.
Grade 2
Today the grade 2’s
learned more about structures! They looked at more materials that structures
are made out of. They also focused on what materials are strong, and what
materials are weaker. They compared the difference using structures,

1’s and 2’s practiced their phonics skills in their Letters and Sounds
workbooks.

Spelling
Students wrote
out their spelling words in their notebooks from the board. They have to write
these words out 3 times, and then create sentences for each word. Students then
completed pages in their workbook.
