Welcome back! I really hope that everyone who attended the gala had a great time. It was very nice to see everyone all dressed up J This Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 is casual day, so please do not send you child to school in uniform. This Thursday, February 27th is SPEECH DAY! The students who got chosen will be presented in the gym in front of the school and judges. Parents are more than welcomed to attend. SPIRIT WEEK is coming up! This is a great opportunity for children to show how much St. Jude’s spirit they have! Pease pay attention to the following dates:

Grade 1

The grade 1’s learned some of the similarities and differences between solids. More importantly they learned the which solids are used for building strong structures and which ones are not.  

Grade 2 

The grade two’s practiced their basic math skills in their arithmetic workbooks.

UOI

Grade 1

Today in UOI, both grade 1’s and 2’s organized their IB portfolios. The grade 2’s also presented their summative project in gym class! They did an excellent job.

The students worked on their language skills in their Letter and Sounds workbooks.

Novel Study

Today in our novel study we created our very own expedition to the North Pole! Then, we read chapter 8, and discussed how our journeys were similar to Christopher Robin’s.
