Good morning everyone! I just wanted to remind
everyone of the Gala, which will take place on February 22, 2014. Its going to
be a great, and I really hope to see you all there :) We are heading to the
Science Center on Wednesday! Please be sure pack your children a disposal lunch
as it is easier to clean up! This Thursday is VALENTINES DAY SPIRIT DAY! The
children are encouraged to dress in red, white, and pink. The next day, Friday,
February 14th, 2014 will be a PD day, so there will be no school.

Math
Grade 1
Today the students learned about the appropriate
language to use while interpreting a graph. We focused on words like; “ALWAYS,
SOMETIMES, NEVER”. We discussed this as a class, and then they worked in their
math makes sense workbooks.

Grade 2
The grade two’s practiced their math skills in
their arithmetic books.

UOI
Grade 1
Today we read a book about inventions! Later the
students did some creative writing. They wrote an acrostic poem with the word
invention.
Grade 2
The grade 2’s discussed some current news with the
Olympics, and then continued to learn about the origin on the Olympic games in
their workbooks.
Language
Both grade 1's and 2's worked on their phonics
today in their Letter and Sounds workbooks.
Grade 1: pgs. 87 – 88
Grade 2: pgs. 76 – 77
Spelling
Both grade 1's and 2's got their brand new spelling
words which they had to copy down 3 times and write a sentence for each word.
They then worked on these words in their spelling workbooks.

SPB: pgs. 85 – 88
