We are very excited to announce that the 2014 Oral Presentations will take place on February 27th.  Three students will be selected per grade (by your child's classroom teacher) to present.  JKA-Grade 3 students will be presenting poetry, Grade 4-6 speeches and Grade 7-9 TED Talks presentations.  The JKA-Grade 3 portion will start at 9:00am and the Grade 4-9 segment will start at 12:15pm.  Please see the attached flyer and schedule.  We hope that this schedule gives many of you the opportunity to attend this exciting event.  All encouraged to attend both the morning and afternoon presentations.  We are currently waiting for confirmation from three highly accredited judges from outside of SJA, however; this event is bound to be a fantastic learning opportunity for not only those presenting, but all SJA students, teachers and parents.

Grade 1

Today the grade 1’s practiced creating and reading graphs. We are really trying to focus on using math related words such as; “more” “less”, “same”, “equal”.

The grade two’s practiced their math skills in their arithmetic books. We are learning about fractions now!

The grade 1’s learned about planes today!! We watched a movie on planes, and read a book on the inventors of planes! Then we made paper planes and a flying contest!

Grade 2 

The grade 2’s watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics today! They are very exited for them to begin. They then continued to do work in their Olympic notebooks.
