Welcome back
everyone! Hope you all had a nice weekend! Please remember that students should
be writing in cursive only from now on. This is a slow learning process, but
they are experiencing excellent practice and all students are trying really
hard to write in cursive! Please
check out upcoming announcements:
1. Daily 5: Wednesday, January 21st, 2015. Please make
sure the students come to school with headphones once again for our activities
with the tablets!
2. International Day will be held this year on Friday, January 23rd, 2015.
We will be in the gym from 2:30pm to 3:20pm. At this time, parents are able to
come in and explore the other countries!
Hope to see everyone there!
3. Unit Math Test: Tuesday, January 27th, 2015
4. Permission form and
money for the science fair! Last day is Friday
January 23rd, 2015.
Take a look at our day:
French – Mme. Stella
Visual Art – Mr. Monaghan
Gym – Ms. Lovan
Math
Today in math we discussed how we can use 2D shapes to create many various pictures! The students did an excellent job, and were really creative with their pictures! MMS: pgs. 129 – 130
This units test will be next Tuesday, January 27th,
2015.
Unit of Inquiry
Before we begin our next unit, we used
UOI period today to learn about Martin Luther King, since today is a special
Martin Luther King Day! We then used apples to understand that although the
skin of apples may be different colour, when you cut them a certain way, they
have the same shape on the inside. They learned a lot today!
Spelling
Students copied down these weeks
words 3 times in their notebook, and then finished work in SPA workbooks.
SPA: pgs. 65 – 68
Have a wonderful Evening
Ms. Rossi
