Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

We will be using our tablets this week! The students are upper excited! I am asking that the students bring in a set of headphones so they can listen to the tablets for certain activities. We will be using them on Thursday afternoon. Students can leave the headphone in their “work cubbies” located in the classroom to ensure that they will stay safe. Thanks for your ongoing support. Have a great weekend! Please check out up coming announcements:

1. Snuggle up and Read: I was having some trouble getting my books back with the snuggle up and read program, however I know this program motivates the students to read at home, so I would like to continue it! I will have a sign in and out sheet now for each student (like a library). If the children do bring back their books every Monday, they will not get to sign out a new one. Your assistance with this is greatly appreciated! Parents should also be writing down the minutes on the calendar so I can track how much they are reading! For every 100 minutes, they will get a stick to add to their log J
2. Registration Packages went home just before the holidays. I hope to see every back next year! Please be sure to register as soon as possible, as these spots fill up quickly. The deadline for maintaining a spot for next year is February 20th, 2014!
3. International Day will be held this year on Friday, January 23rd, 2015. We will be in the gym from 2:30pm to 3:20pm. At this time, parents are able to come in and explore the other countries! The students will be learning about Italy. I am so excited to explore this country with the class, especially since I am Italian J. Students will be using their own information to learn about Italy. I am asking that each child print off some basic information regarding our country, so we can work on this next week! Thank you for you help!

Take a look at our day:

French – Mme. Stella

Art
Today in art we began our international day study! We cut pictures and pasted them on construction paper for our board, and learned some interesting facts about our country!

Gym – Ms. Lovan

Math
Unit 5 TEST!

Unit of Inquiry
The students started on their summative projects! We went through the rubric together so they know what needs to be done to achieve a good mark! Then they started on their package!

Spelling
We did not have a spelling test before the holidays, so we will be reviewing these same words! Students got to practice writing them in cursive 3 times in their spelling workbooks.

Have a wonderful evening!
Ms. Rossi
