Math

Grade 1

As a class we reviewed combining dimes and pennies, addition and subtraction, counting nickels and solving word problems.

Grade 2

We reviewed addition, subtraction, counting money, telling time, word problems, place values, temperature

Unit of Inquiry

Grade 1

Today, we worked on our summative. Students are expected to use this time in class to complete their summative assignment. They drew a rough draft of their dinosaur today! They loved this, and put a lot of effort in their pictures. We talked about what a rough draft is and why it is important.

Language

Grade 2

Today, the 2’s continued to work on their media presentations in class.

Grade 1

Both grade worked on their phonics in their Letters and Sounds workbook.

Language

Both grades worked on making self-connections. We read a story about listening, and the students were able to make really great connections!

Novel Study

Today we read chapter 1 pgs. 1-12. We talked about “How will Winnie get honey with a balloon?” Students sketched a picture of how Pooh gets honey with a balloon.
