Welcome back, I hope everyone had a great weekend!
I just wanted to remind everyone of the Gala, which will take place on February
22, 2014. Its going to be a great, and I really hope to see you all there :)
Math
Grade 1
The students learned about three different types of
graphs today; tally chart, pictograph, and a bar graph. They had an opportunity
to survey their classmates and graph their information.
MMS: pg. 105
Grade 2
The grade two’s practiced their math skills in
their arithmetic books. We are currently working on counting by 25, which they
are improving on.
A2: pgs. 99 – 102
UOI
Grade 1
We read a book about inventions today, and
discussed what inventions are the most important and why. They reflected on this
in their journal.
Grade 2
The grade 2’s are encouraged to bring in newspaper
clippings and pictures of the Olympic games to share with the class. Today the grade 2’s began to create a
lapbook, to hold all sorts of Olympic related things.
Language
Both grade 1's and 2's worked on their phonics
today in their Letter and Sounds workbooks.
Grade 1: pgs. 77 – 78
Grade 2: pgs. 66 – 68
Spelling
Both grade 1's and 2's got their brand new spelling
words which they had to copy down 3 times and write a sentence for each word.
They then worked on these words in their spelling workbooks.

SPB: pgs. 77 – 80
