Good morning everyone! I just wanted to remind everyone of the Gala, which will take place on February 22, 2014. Its going to be a great, and I really hope to see you all there :) I also hope that everyone will be coming to the Science Center on Wednesday, February 12^th, 2014. Both the grade 1’s and 2’s will both be attending this trip as it pertains to inventions and structures! The cost is 20$ per child, and I am looking for 2 parent volunteers to come as well. Please see the letter that went home with the children.

The grade 1’s worked on their math skills in their arithmetic workbooks.

The grade 2’s reviewed what they have learned in their data management and probability unit. They will have a test on Monday, February 3^rd, 2014.

Grade 1

Today we read a book about Henry Ford, and how he invented the car. They then completed a reading comprehension worksheet, designed their own colour combination for their car.

Grade 2 

The grade 2’s learned about Ancient Greek society today, and related it to some of the events which are played in the Olypimc games. They found this super interesting. 

Language 

Both grade 1's and 2's worked on their phonics today in their Language workbooks.

Novel Study

We read the rest of chapter 6 in our Winnie the Pooh novel. Later the students had to “re-tell” the most important events in the chapter using a worksheet.
