Good evening everyone!  I just wanted to remind everyone of the Gala, which will take place on February 22, 2014. Its going to be a great, and I really hope to see you all there :) The lunch forms for February are due Thursday, January 23^rd, 2013. On the form it says that it is due on the Friday, but that is an error. Sorry for the inconvenience. Take a look at our day.

Math 

Grade 1

The grade 1’s are beginning their new probability unit. We reviewed how to sort and why it is important. We looked a picture and together thought of various sorting rules.

Grade 2 

The grade two’s practiced their math skills in their arithmetic books. We are currently working on counting by 25, which they are improving on.

Grade 1

We went to the resource room today and did some work on the smart board! We watched a video about inventions and brainstormed what we saw, and related it to all the inventions the children thought of yesterday!  

Grade 2 

Language 

Both grade 1's and 2's worked on their phonics today in their Letter and Sounds workbooks.

Novel Study

We read some pages in our Winnie the Pooh novel. The children then wrote a response journal of what they would get Eeyore for his birthday. Later we looked at a poem in the novel and the students worked in pairs to create their own poem.
