Good evening everyone! I just wanted to remind everyone of the Gala, which will take place on February 22, 2014. Its going to be a great, and I really hope to see you all there :) The lunch forms for February are due Thursday, January 23^rd, 2013. On the form it says that it is due on the Friday, but that is an error. Sorry for the inconvenience. Take a look at our day.

Math 

Grade 1

We reviewed addition and subtraction, telling time to the hour, adding on one number, counting coins, solving word problems and division of an object in half. Students completed work in their Arithmetic workbooks. 1 A1: pgs. 117-120.

Grade 2 

Today the students worked on their problem solving skills. They had to “act” out a problem. We are focusing on what the problems are telling us, and what they are trying to figure out. I am having students re-read the problems a couple of times and trying to solve them before they ask questions.

Grade 1

The grade 1’s used this period today to work on their summative projects. The grade 1’s began to assess their problem, and how organization can solve that problem.

Grade 2 

The grade 2’s also worked on their summative projects today. They are building their very own structures!

Language 

Both grade 1's and 2's worked on their phonics today in their Language books.

Novel Study

We read the Winnie the Pooh pgs. We later watched a video that related to the paged we read.

Cursive Writing

Both grade 1's and 2's practiced their cursive writing in their HWT workbooks.
