Hello everyone!!
Hope all is going well. This mornings Terry Fox Run was an amazing experience
for both the students and me! It was great to see the school come together and run/walk
for such a good cause! The class had a great time and I am so happy they did.
Here is what our day looked liked;
Grade 1 and 2
In the morning we
read the Terry Fox: Marathon of Hope book. As a class we talked a little bit
about Terry Fox and why there is a run in his honour every year. Then we filled
out a worksheet where they got to talk about Terry Fox and draw a picture.
TERRY FOX RUN!
UOI
We missed our UOI
and French class today due to the Terry Fox Run
Math
Grade 1
The grade 1’s
reviewed counting to 30, fact families from 1-5, comparing numbers, place
value, counting pennies, and subtraction skills. We went over a few examples
together as a class, and then they practiced these skills in their arithmetic
workbook.
Homework
A1 – Ppg. 23-24.
Grade 2
The grade 2’s
focused on subtraction and addition sentences, and the many ways you can write
a number sentence with the same 3 numbers. They also focused on telling time,
and understanding the difference between digital and analog time. They practiced
this in the Arithmetic workbook.
Homework
A2 – Pg. 14 – 15
Language
Grade 1/2
Both the grade 1’s
and 2’s reviewed the vowel sounds and bowel blends. Both grades also worked on
consonant blends, which has been helping them with their reading skills. The
grade 2’s also worked on finishing sentences with the appropriate details. Both
grades also worked in their handwriting books. Starting Monday, I would like
the students to begin writing in cursive.
Homework:
Grade 1:
Language 1 – pg.
17-18
HWT: pg. 20
Grade 2:
Language 2 – pg.

is tomorrow, so please have students review words!
Have a great
evening!
