Hello Parents!

Before I let you know what we worked on today, I just wanted to take a second to talk about a program that is happening within the St. Judes Academy community this year. We are going GREEN! There is a company called “Terracycle” which focuses on the recycle and up cycle of garbage. They take material that is traditionally not recyclable and turn them into things we can use as a community. They aim to make our world a cleaner and safer place, and that is something we wish to promote within the school. Right now we are focusing on collecting “cookie and cracker” wrappers. For instance, Mr. Christie packages. If you have any of these at home and could bring them in that would be great!! Terracycle works closely with schools, and they actually give money to schools who collect a certain amount of material. Our goal is to be that school! Please check out the website for more information;

We had a great day today. Here’s what our day looked like;

UOI
Grade 1:
The grade ones talked more about family and relationships today. We took it one step further, and talked about the roles of family members and why they are important. For all the moms out there, they really do appreciate that you make them lunch! They filled out a worksheet that stated the different roles within their family, and why they are important.
