Good evening parents,
Sorry about the late post. The internet was not working at school, and I stay for aftercare until 6pm, so I was unable to post earlier. I just wanted to remind everyone that Monday and Wednesday is gym uniform day. I noticed that some students were coming in full uniform today. Here’s a look at our day;

UOI;
Grade 1:
Students wrote 3 things they think make a good friend. This helped the students understand that not only do we have relationships with our family, we also have relationships with our friends. We also read a book to the class about what makes a good friend so they could relate our lesson to the book.
No Homework

Grade 2:
Students learned about what a continent is, and how many there are. They also focused on the following;
-       Show continents on a map
-       Sing continents song
-       Discuss five oceans
-       Show five oceans on a map
-       Sing five oceans song
No Homework.

Math
Grade 1:
We talked about attributes today using different objects and talking about why they were sorted the way they were.  In groups, they worked on sorting different shaped keys and had to discuss their sorting pattern.
No Homework

Grade 2:
The grade 2’s learned that patterns can also be found by hearing and by using symbols. We made different patterns using clapping and snapping, and we also used symbols to represent what we heard. They continued to work on these skills in their textbooks.
Homework:
Math Makes Sense = MMS – PG. 21-22

Novel Study
Grade 1&2
We read another chapter of Flat Stanley and discussed what we had read so far and the new characters that were introduced. Then, we made our own flat Stanley’s in class.

No Homework

Language
Grade 1:
We did some examples on the board together and have students identify period mistakes. We went over proper sentence structure, who and a what. Identify what they are in a sentence.
Homework:
Language 1 = L – Pg, 5-7

Grade 2:
We went over proper structure as well, however took it one step further when discussed how to properly end a sentence. We practiced this as a group.
Homework:
Language 2 = L – Pg. 4-5

Have a great evening!
Ms. Rossi
