Blog 22
Happy Friday! On Monday the class will be sharing their snuggle up and read books. Please send a book with your child for Monday so we can share stories. Hope everyone is ready for the first weekend of October J Here is a look at our day today;

Math
Grade 1
Students took out their feet they made yesterday! We sat in a circle and counted by 2’s using everyone’s feet! As we were counting I will recorded the numbers on a chartpaper for students. I then showed various patterns 1’s, 10’s, 5’s and 2’s on Chartpaper and students had to fill in the missing numbers according to the pattern. The students then completed the skip counting ladders worksheet. They then played the game Skip Counting (Fun in the Hay)- Thanksgiving Literacy Activities.

Grade 2
We focused more on fact families today because I really noticed the students needed more practice on this particular lesson. Students used the two colour counters to explore fact families, which was completed in groups.
They continued to practice this skill in their workbooks.
Homework: MMS pg. 36 & 37

UOI
Grade 1
Students used this time to complete any unfinished work in their timeline booklets, and then they completed a reflection of the unit. Once these items were completed, students worked on adding items to their portfolios for this unit.

Grade 2
Students plotted their newly formed countries on a map of the world. Then using logic of where it is in the world determined what kind of weather and clothing would be found in their country.

French – Mme. Stella

Spelling
Grade 1 & 2
 We had our weekly spelling test today!
