Happy Friday everyone! The students all worked very hard today to finish as much work as they could for the weekend. We had another great week. Take a look at our day;

Math

Grade 1

Math- Math Makes Sense:  Review Period

We will go over all the concepts needed for students in order to prepare for their test on Monday. I ran the review and asked for volunteers to come up and answer the questions.  Students ended the period by completing MMS pg. 164.

Homework: Study

Math

Students worked on their addition, subtraction, and telling time abilities in their workbooks. They also did another speed drill today.

UOI

Grade 1

I began the lesson by reading the book Dinosaurumpus. Now that we have watched the video, we went over the KWL charts, and students filled out what they have learned so far from the video and discussions thus far.

Spelling

Both grade 1’s and grade 2’s completed their spelling test.

Language

Both grade 1’s and grade 2’s practiced their cursive writing today and worked on their punctuation, rhyming words, and sentence completion in their Letter and Sounds workbooks.

Phonics Fun!

Students played worked on their consonant blending sounds by playing a Halloween phonics game.

Journal

Students worked on another topics for their journal entry: “I love Halloween because …” They must write 4 complete sentences and draw a picture. I am really focusing on writing detailed sentences and correct punctuation.
