Hello parents and Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone is ready for the weekend. Today we really worked hard to finish all work, so students can enjoy time with their family this weekend. Here is a look at what we did;

Math
Grade 1
Students did another speed drill today. After, as a class we reviewed fact families from 1 to 5, counting by 10’s, ordinal numbers, addition facts, grouping, and counting dimes.
Homework:
Arith. 1 pgs. 33-36

Grade 2
The grade 2’s also worked on a speed drills today. They then continued to work on their math skills that included, addition, subtraction, and telling time.
Homework
Arithmetic 2: Pg. 25-26

UOI
Grade 1
The students continued their summative (timeline) presentations. The rest of the students went today. After the presentations, we discussed what we learned about how responsibilities and rules change over time.

Grade 2
Exciting day as the grade 2s presented their country to the rest of the class! Having given them a little bit more time to finish up some last minute details we did run short on time so we still have a few more presentations to get through on Tuesday

Language:
Grade
Grade 1 
Students worked on rhyming words, comprehension, capital letters and periods.
Homework
Language 1: 25-26.
HWT: pg. 48-49

Grade 2
The grade two’s worked on rhyming words, and completing sentences with the proper punctuation.
Homework
Language 2: pg. 20-21  
HWT: pg. 22 – 23

Language Lesson: Thanksgiving Phonics Game
Grade 1 & 2
Each group was given a different center activity that they had to complete in their groups. Once it was completed, they switched with another.
Game choices: Long & Short Vowel Sort, Build a Word, Sorting Sentences, ABC Order.

Spelling Test
Both grades completed their spelling test, and then we read the book.
