Hi everyone, hope the night is going well so far! Here is a look at what the class worked on today;

Math
Grade 1
The students worked on a “speed drill” today in class. They were given a certain amount of time to practice the skills they have been working on in their arithmetic books so far. For instance, they practiced adding, subtracting, and counting numbers. They then worked on some more addition and counting skills.
Arithmetic 1: Lesson 27 (You will see this at the bottom of the page)

Grade 2
The grade 2’s worked on more addition and subtraction, however the main focus for the grade 2’s dealt with number sentences, which they have also been working on in their Math Makes Sense Notebook.
Homework: A2 –pg. 18-19

UOI:
Grade 1
As a class we went over the back to the future page and I explained to students what they should do and how, and what is expected of them.
Students had the rest of period to complete their page.
NO HOMEWORK

Grade 2
Today we looked at local and global foods. Students were then given a flyer for a local grocery store and asked to make a food board that advertised only "local" foods. After we introduced the idea of trading and played a trading game where students split into groups and had to trade livestock such as cows or chicken for peppers and oranges. This game demonstrated how important it is for countries to be flexible in their trading and trade what they have in order to obtain what they don't.
