Hi everyone! It is pretty hard to believe that it is already Wednesday! We had a pretty busy today, but it was fun! Have a look at what we did;

Math

Grade 1

Together as a class, students had a chance to look at the big math book. Volunteers were called up to make addition stories for the picture. Students then played a center game, where they had to make up their own story problem and record it, and then another group had to solve it.

MMS pg. 159-160

Grade 2

Students completed another speed drill today. They had 1 minute to complete a serious of addition and subtraction sentence. Students then had a chance to practice their addition, subtraction, and telling time skills.

UOI

Grade 1

Together as a class we read the Dinosaur story! Students then had a chance to complete a KWL chart to show their current knowledge of dinosaurs. This took some time since this was the first time we have done a chart like this before. It was a good chance for me to see what the students already knew about dinosaurs.

Grade 2

Today we started our new unit media literacy. To begin with we familiarized ourselves with some terminology such as the word media itself and everything that is included in the term media. We created a mind map of media literacy which included both what we knew before the class about the subject and what we learnt today

Grade 1

As a class we reviewed special sounds and blends. The students then practiced these skills in their workbooks.

LS: pgs. 30-31.

Grade 2

The grade twos reviewed the special sounds and vowel sounds in their Letter and Sounds workbooks.

Autumn Worksheet

Now that the students have been introduced to importance of adjectives, we will be doing another “Autumn” worksheet using adjective this time. They have to fill out what they see, what they hear, what they smell, and how they feel using descriptive words. This will be handed in for marking.

OWA’s

Grade 1 & 2

Both grades are going to be doing a writing assessment today during class time.
